‘Place of eels’

Commissioned lino cut print

Original lino cut print created for a private client.

The client lives in a place that translates to ‘Place of Eels’. They wanted the eel to be the focus, but rooted in place, with accurate flora and fauna around it.

This was a great opportunity to research a landscape I didn’t otherwise know much about, and learn more about the diversity of life in the Thames basin.

The silver eel is surrounded by water milfoil, hornwort, and common reeds, with grebes and a damselfly flying overhead.

Printed on buff Somerset paper, 297x430mm.
